Neel has composed music in a wide range of styles for his ensemble and film, television, dance and theater projects.

Jerome Composers Commissioning Program: Neel was recently selected as a recipient of this prestigious award. The fruits of this funding was a new series of compositions, "Reorientation Suite". The Neel Murgai Ensemble premiered this work on April 24, 2010 at the Brooklyn Queens Conservatory of Music.

The Yes Men Fix the World: Composed original music for this feature length documentary detailing the exploits of the Yes Men, a group of political hoaxsters/performance artists. This film premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and is currently screening in theaters across the US.

Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company: Worked with the music director to create original music for 2 new modern dance works, “Blind Date" and “Another Evening: I Bow Down". Neel performed with the company at Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and other theaters around the world.

Holidays on a Plate, Holidays in the Danger Zone, BBC Travel Programs: Composed original music for 3 episodes of this series.

Crossing Lines: Documentary short of an Indian-American’s story around the death of her father. Neel composed and recorded the score for this film.

Arts Cetera Compilation: Neel composed an original children’s song for this young children and parents music class.

BabyTata, Instructional baby massage DVD: Composed and recorded original eclectic score featuring instruments from all over the world, with partner, Ed Feldman.

Place Poem, Dusara Dance Company’s modern dance piece at LaMaMa E.T.C. Theatre: Composed and performed original musical score.

Rikki Tiki Tavi, Manhattan Children’s Theatre: Composed and recorded all the music for this singing and dancing production based on Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale.

Mission On Mars: Live Drum and Bass/Indo-Fusion band. Featuring my sitar, vocals and percussion and many of my compositions.

Back to Creation: Worked with Dhafuzion, a cross-cultural music and dance troupe to create this theatrical piece, performed at PS122.

Metjetji: Created and performed this work with the world influenced myth/storytelling theater and dance troupe, Morgon Kara. The performance was in the Egyptian wing of the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
